Title: Senior Civil Engineer/ Specialist
Job Purpose
Performs a variety of assignments through the application of basic Civil & Structure engineering theories, techniques, and practices. In development mode utilization of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry-standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables while applying procedures and processes. Supports the CSA department activities on project execution.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
- Business Development Support:
- Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database.
- Supports the Lead Civil Engineer to Build positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors.
- Business Operations:
- Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences & be responsible for a smooth handover.
- Encourages knowledge of and compliance with requirements and JESA internal processes.
- Works to resolve inter-discipline, vendor, and customer issues.
- Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
- Participates in the delivery of training in the development of training content.
- Checks and Supervises work done by the Associate Civil Engineer.
- Technical Competency:
- Adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Supports the standardization of discipline specifications, drawings, and document templates (reports, calculation notes...).
- Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
- Adherence to work instruction, checklist, standard specifications, design basis during the execution of projects.
- Uses local/global standards (Eurocodes-BAEL-RPS2011-CM66-ASTM-ACI-etc...) to support technical excellence.
- Develops an awareness of current tools for analysis, visualization, and design, particularly computer-based tools (as Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis) and packages and competence in the use of a selection.
- Supports the processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
- Project Execution:
- Works, supervises, and checks the work done by the Associate Civil Engineer, knows the discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
- Assists and supports to Implement innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.
- Checks deliverables and ensure the quality of drawing according to procedures.
- Enables Civil Lead to support the management of project change and progressing for the discipline and works with the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
- Participates in squad checking, recommends improvements and acts where required.
Main Scope/Responsibilities (continued)
- Project Deliverables:
- Prepare calculation notes, communicate design intent to the designers and maintain an ongoing dialogue aimed at the accurate completion of the design deliverables.
- Prepare the VDR analysis of sub-contractors (calculation drawings...)
- Prepare CSA specifications and requisitions.
- Prepare under Civil Lead supervision, CSA RFI, and RFC.
- Prepare under Civil Lead supervision, CSA progress documents, and change notice.
- Prepare under Civil Lead supervision, CSA reporting documents.
- Procurement Support:
- Drives or support ITB establishment (Invitation to Bid): Specifications, requisitions, the definition of price, BOQ...
- Drives, supports or participates in bid clarifications, prepares bid evaluations, completes inter-discipline vendor information review and approval and finalizes other certification activities.
- Site Support:
- Assist in resolving site issues from office and site.
- May create sketches or documents that support construction and provide necessary on-site support if needed.
Education
- Awarded a 5 year technical degree in science or engineering. Will be actively licensed with a local engineering governing body where required by law.

Global Experience
- 4 to 7 years
Specific Experience in the position
- Should know the basic of Civil Design mainly in industrial projects (preference in engineering offices)
