Title:  Process SID Engineer/Specialist

Job Purpose

Under minimum supervision, performs a variety of assignments through the application of basic Process engineering theories, techniques, and practices. In development mode being trained in the utilization of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry-standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables while gaining exposure to procedures and processes. Intermediate level position following defined processes and precedents to complete assigned tasks with increasing independence specific to an area of specialty. Support the department activities on project execution. 

Main Scope/Responsibilities

  • Business Development Support:
    • Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database. Builds positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors. 
  • Business Operations: 
    • Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences. 
    • Supports the delivery of training: developing the content and facilitating assigned training topics.
    • Ensures that work is done in compliance with technical requirements and JESA internal processes. 
    • Ensures discipline technical work meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements. 
  • Technical Competency :
    • Performs under minimum supervision of the direct supervisor, routine aspects of Process/chemical engineering and design activities including Heat & Mass balance calculation, equipment sizing, line sizing, calculations, technology selection, Flowsheets & PFD's development, P&ID's development (Under supervision), Interlocks development, control philosophy..., Process package preparation, Technical bid harmonization (Under supervision) and RFP preparation (Under supervision)
  • Project Execution :
    • Provides information and supports on Process engineering tasks assigned by the process Lead to aid the project team in the preparation of the proposals, track project progress.
    • Participates in workshops involving multi-engineering disciplines, vendors, and customers such as interactive planning sessions, P&ID Review, HAZOP Review, 3D Model Review...
    • Participates in reviewing and checking engineering deliverables.

Main Scope/Responsibilities (continued)

  • Project Deliverables:
    • Develops process deliverables and ensures consistency in all documents, check under the lead supervision the documents after editing, and verify the adherence to the applicable work instructions, checklists, standard specifications, and project design basis.
    • Uses of sizing, calculation & engineering software (Excel spreadsheets, ASPEN ...)
  • Procurement Support:
    • Provides inputs to requisitions with associated annexes for inquiry,
    • Conducts technical bid evaluation of process/equipment packages.
    • Provides inputs to prepare package RFP
  • Site Support:
    • Supports field assignments and field walk-downs as required as well as assists the field in resolving process issues & requests related to Process and vendors data. May provides on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turn over.

Education

  • Awarded as minimum 5 years technical degree in engineering recognized by the state
  • Curricula: Process/ Chemical Engineering

Global Experience

  • 2 to 5 years
