Title:  Principal Estimator

Job Purpose

Develop and continously improve an effective estimating system for one or more discipline. (Expert in one or two discipline estimates)

Main Scope/Responsibilities

• Provides support to estimators in the preparation of estimates and reports.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely estimates for proposal and capital costs estimates.
• Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends.
• Analyze the Material Take Off/ Bill of Quantities for costing purposes.
• Assist Project/Construction Managers in the financial administration of contracts.
• Provide technical inputs, either as team leader or senior Discipline Estimator at project level to ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Review and validate different indices of labour production rates and productivities per site location.
• Build and maintain a cost database based on actual project as built data.

Education

• Bac +5 (Preferably in Engineering)
• Curricula: Engineering, construction, estimating and cost control

Global Experience

• 8-12 years

Specific Experience in the position

• Minimum 3 years in the Engineering and construction industry including 1 year minimum as a an estimator
