Title:  Principal System IT Engineer

Job Purpose

A Principal Systems Engineer is responsible for resolving escalated service issues, coaching other engineers to resolutions, engineering and implementing complex projects, and maintaining and overseeing the technology of their assigned accounts.  This role is a key position within the service department and will be called upon to resolve the highest level technical issues.

Main Scope/Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
• Install, configure, and maintain system hardware, applications, and application distribution systems
• Craft custom scripts, reducing the requirement for human interaction
• Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Design, Implement and maintain backups, security, and redundancy strategies
• Monitoring the network and suggesting improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
• Mentor team members on technical issues
• Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager

Education

• Engineering degree
• Curricula : Computer sciences
