Title: Associate Process Engineer/Specialist
Job Purpose
Under supervision, performs a variety of assignments through the application of basic engineering theories, techniques, and practices. In development mode being trained in the utilization of relevant regulations, codes, and industry-standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables while gaining exposure to procedures and processes. Intermediate level position following defined processes and precedents to complete assigned tasks with increasing independence specific to an area of specialty. Support the department activities on project execution.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
- Business Development Support:
- Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database. Builds positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors.
- Technical Competencies:
- Assists and prepares under supervision below:
- Basis of design
- P&ID’s: Piping & Instrument Diagrams
- Heat & material balance
- Process equipment datasheets
- Equipment & line lists
- Material selection
- Determination of design conditions
- Calculations (relief-valve, control-valve, depressurizing, line-sizing & pressure drop)
- Cause & effect diagrams
- Vendor info review
- PFD’s: Process Flow Diagrams Check the drawings and documents prepared by the designers

- Site Support:
- Seeks analysis and synthesize process input from operation units, may participate in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and incorporates requirements into engineering/design. Works with site personnel to resolve issues from office and site.
- May create plans or documents that support construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning. May provide on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turn over.
- Other:
- Assists the lead in discipline-related activities
- Adherence to work instruction, checklist, standard specifications, design basis during the execution of projects
- Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences. Responsible for a smooth handover. Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
